FormacDVB Bluetooth Remote
Control Formac's DVB-T Software with Salling Clicker
Now that I have this nifty Formac watchandgo DVB-T card in my Powerbook I was quite disappointed that Formac's bluetooth remote control doesn't work with my SonyEricsson mobile. So I've written a tiny basic Salling Clicker script that should work with the FormacDVB software. Hope it's useful for some of you fellow Mac users out there.
- Numeric keys (0-9) skip directly to channels 1–99.
- Press More/Menu to access further actions (like channel information, recordings, TimeShift, play/pause, Live TV, mouse control, full screen etc.).
- Hit »C« key to start and stop recording.
- Click select key to pause / play (TimeShift).
# – Volume Up
* – Volume Down
^ – Up one channel
v – Down one channel
< – Switch to Full Screen
> – ESC, switch back to normal size
C – start/stop recording
Menu/More – view available channel information.
Download: FormacDVB Remote (DMG, 212 KB, German/English)
Warning: Don't use if you haven't at least Salling Clicker 3.0.1 (the upgrade from version 2.x is free), Mac OS X 10.4 and FormacDVB installed.
By the way: The Powerbook was also built for usage with closed displays. You can use your PB with the display closed even with inserted watchandgo-PCMCIA-card over S-VHS (TV) or DVI-Out (video beamer): Your mobile with Salling Clicker wakes the PB up (via bluetooth), the screen is sent to canvas or TV = external display. You have to enable bluetooth devices to wake up the computer in the Bluetooth System Preferences. Space saving – good looking ;)
Update: Last night I added a menu so you can access and control further FormacDVB actions straight away from your sofa or lazy-chair like:
- start and stop recordings (read the readme.txt)
- pause and play a.k.a. TimeShift
- view (current and all) channel information
- adjust 4 screen sizes (from a quarter to full screen) etc.
You can now also start and stop a recording directly from the main screen by pressing »C«. Have fun!
Update III: Added menu item »Mouse Control«. Sometimes it could be useful to be able to control the mouse cursor out of FormacDVB Remote.
Update IV: Added menu item »Live TV«. When you used TimeShift to pause and then play a channel, you can e.g. switch to live view within the ad block or out of the movie browser.

Malte, this is my favorite widget. But unfortunately I can only control the widget via bluetooth, not FormacDVB.
wow, works like a a charm and better than the original! Thanks, Marcus!

Your recordings are automagically named »Formac-Video«. You find them in the recordings folder which is assigned in FormacDVB's preferences (usually your movies folder or desktop)."
Tolles Script, mein Kompliment!
Vielen Dank, mach weiter so!
